DeepLearning.ai 2019

ANOTHER YEAR IS OVER SO DOES ANOTHER EDITION OF OUR DEEPLEARNING.AI STUDY GROUP

We always know when a year is over after we celebrate another graduation for our DeepLearning.ai Study Group, where we meet new faces who become a part of our AI Community.

As an introductory course our AI Programs, this study group never fails to bring together like-minded AI enthusiasts coming from different institutions, both from academia and industry.

REDESIGNED IN LINE WITH OUR COMMUNITY’S NEEDS

While the original DeepLearning.ai Study Group course was meant to be tackled during a period of 16 weeks, after carefully deliberating with our former graduates and guides, we decided to redesign the course to fulfill our community’s demands in the most compact way: The duration of the course was shortened to last 12 weeks with five guides from a wide range of backgrounds as well as of their own distinctive styles. We are also proud to say that three out of these five guides, Ahmet Melek, Hamdi Erkut and Giray Gökırmak, were former graduates of this study group, which proves that these study models only work when there are people willing to give back to the community. Apart from our former participants, our AI Programs Lead Uras Mutlu and one of our most experienced guides, Fatih Mehmet Güler, who was the sole guide of the first inzva DeepLearning.ai Study Group also led some discussions in two courses.

ENCOURAGING DIVERSITY IN OUR AI COMMUNITY

We always want to include people who study in programs other than ones solely focusing on computer science to our community to increase the diversity in inzva, which we believe will help creating novel ideas and constitute an environment to enable productive collaborations.

The 2019 DeepLearning.ai Study Group was a real success in this regard; almost half of the participants entitled to graduation were coming from a variety of disciplines including chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, mathematics and informatics, and eight universities. The participants were also in different stages of their careers as we welcomed undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. students as well as practicing engineers of various companies.

In addition to all these, we were happy to see that twenty-five percent of our most recent graduates were women AI enthusiasts, which is our highest ratio to this date!

GAINING HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE STEP BY STEP

Since this study group constitutes only the beginning of inzva’s AI journey, our enthusiasts will make a comeback for our Applied AI course, which will last four weeks starting from February 8, 2020.

The applications will be opened as of January 6, 2020, do not forget to check our web page!
