ONLINE PROGRAMMING CONTEST FOR UNIVERSITIES 2022 Report

The ‘Online Programming Contest for Universities' (‘OPC’) was organized by inzva for the third time on September 17, 2022, providing undergraduate students with a national competitive programming contest environment!

We have been organizing OPC for the last three years, and we will continue to do so, with the aim of encouraging algorithmic, analytical and productive thinking.

ABOUT THE CONTEST

The Online Programming Contest is a team-based contest initiated in collaboration with participating Turkish universities and our community-based competitive programming platform, algoleague. All undergraduate students in Turkey who are willing to compete in teams of three are able to participate.

FROM OUR COMMUNITY FOR OUR COMMUNITY: algoleague

algoleague is a competitive programming platform where algorithm enthusiasts of all levels practice their algorithmic thinking skills and compete in contests both in teams and individually. The platform is powered by inzva community and is supported by BEV Foundation.

Abdullah Samed Uslu, Bilkent University, Participant of Online Programming Contest for Universities 2022

“At the start of the Contest due to strategic and simple personal mistakes, we made an entry below our expectations which put us down a bit. However, learning from our past competition experience that the contest is long enough and that there is enough time to cover the effects of a bad start, we quickly devised a new strategy and followed it up for the remainder of the contest and decided to focus on our main goal for which is to enjoy the questions. When we look back, we can say that the effort of the inzva team both during the preparation process and in the post-contest activities (zoom meeting) was definitely worth it and it was a very fun process for us. Although the questions were a little difficult compared to our expectations, it was obvious that they were carefully prepared and, above all, it was entertaining trying to solve them. The participation of teams from different universities that were not in the competition in the past years was also very pleasing in terms of the spread of competitive programming in the country. In order to increase this diversity even more next year, I would definitely recommend everyone to participate and enjoy the competition.”
