inzva Deep Learning Study Group #10

When and where is the Deep Learning Study Group?

The study group starts on January 24, and  will be held online on Saturdays at 10.00 AM lasting approximately 4 hours. 

Will you hold weekly discussions in Turkish or English?

The classes will be held in Turkish. However, all the materials, including exams, assignments, and challenges will be in English.

Who leads the discussion group?

This course is famous for being as community-driven as it gets! We will be setting up a discussion environment with selected guides from the previous batches of the program. 

How much will the study group cost for the participants?

The study group is free of charge.

Is there any requirement to graduate?

You are required to attend at least 80% of the weekly sessions and complete your homeworks by the due date. Failure to do so will result in your removal from our communication channels and reconsideration of your application for future inzva programs.

Is there an age limit for participation in the program?

People over the age of 18 can participate.

Can I join even if I am not a university or master's student?

The study group is open to undergraduate students or those with further experience.

What level of background knowledge does the study group require?

The course is taught in Python. Please have a Python environment i.e. Anaconda ready on your computer before the program. 

You will find instructions here  https://goo.gl/2af83V. We assume you have basic programming skills (understanding of loops, if/else statements, and data structures such as lists and dictionaries).

Recommended skills are basic linear algebra (matrix-vector operations and notation), calculus, probability theory, and a basic understanding of machine learning (how we represent data, what a machine learning model does).

I do not study or have a degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering but I know programming. Can I attend the program?

Your major is not a concern as long as you submit well-considered answers in the form and your background meets the requirements.

How will you organize the online meetups?

We use Zoom to hold our online discussions. You will be expected to follow certain instructions, which you can find in our rules of conduct sent to you with your approval mail.

How will you organize the assignments?

If you are selected to attend this study group, we will send you an email to confirm your attendance by joining a Google Classroom. All of the announcements and assignments will be posted on this platform.

When is the Application Period?

Between July 26 - August 16, until 23.59.

When will the results be announced?

We will email you on August 27, until 23.59.
