algoleague Community and Growth Specialist
algoleague is looking for a Community and Growth Specialist! (Full-time)
This is a full-time position for candidates who are interested in pursuing a career in the nonprofit world. Please be aware that this is not a technical position but rather a community position.
Who are we?
algoleague, supported by BEV Foundation, is a competitive programming platform where algorithm enthusiasts of all levels practice their algorithmic thinking skills, and compete in contests both in teams and individually.
Established in September 2021, algoleague has created more than 400 contests and more than 1300 algorithm problems with the support of its valuable and experienced team and community members.
Growing rapidly, algoleague has provided over 7000 participants with the opportunity to improve themselves through contests, completely free of charge.
algoleague aims to create a safe space for algorithm enthusiasts to grow both personally and technically. It is designed to be a gateway to the world of competitive programming, and takes participants on a self-improvement journey with the help of like-minded peers who are looking to tackle similar challenges like nailing technical interviews, overcoming time-limits and learning coding efficiently.
Who are you?
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum 2 years of experience in related areas (community management, project management, marketing)
Desires to contribute to the technology ecosystem in Turkey
A people person with good English skills
Strong interest and commitment to helping CS students achieve their goals
An individual with a passion for NGO work (Preference will be given to those with experience working at NGOs)
Team player with a good sense of work ethic, humor, and fun
Your major is not a factor; however, a passion for technology, especially in the fields of technology and education, is a plus.
Musts
Good written and verbal communication skills both online and in-person
Excellent with deadlines
Self-driven and open to self-development
Ability to understand the needs and challenges faced by adult learners
Strong attention to detail including record keeping and records management skills
Work independently in the absence of supervision
Effective interpersonal communication skills
Residing in or being willing to relocate to Istanbul
Open to work on Saturdays (still 5 days a week)
Be in the office 1 or 2 days a week (mandatory to be in Taksim Bev Space when there is Algorithm Program organized by inzva)
Able to stay in Beykoz Kundura during the inzva algorithm camps
No travel restrictions and able to participate in algoleague sponsored contests outside the city
Having a driver's license and actively driving
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
Proficiency with Google Drive including Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms is preferred.
Main Responsibilities
Follow our Code of Conduct.
User Satisfaction and Retention:
• Implement feedback loops to constantly gather user input and improve the platform.
• Use analytics tools to track user engagement and identify areas for improvement.
Contest Management:
• Establish a clear timeline and checklist for each phase of contest planning, implementation, and follow-up.
• Develop a feedback mechanism post-contest to improve future events.
University and Student Club Relations:
• Develop a schedule for regular check-ins and meetings with university partners.
• Create a standardized process for onboarding new universities and student clubs.
Content Creation and Social Media:
• Set up a content calendar to plan and schedule posts across various social media platforms.
• Utilize analytics to measure the success of social media campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly.
Marketing Mailings:
• Use email marketing tools to segment the audience and personalize communications.
• Track open rates, click-through rates, and other metrics to optimize future mailings.
Collaboration and Coordination:
• Implement project management tools to streamline communication and task management with the Product Manager and technical team.
• Organize regular meetings to align on goals and progress.
Campus Ambassador Program:
• Develop clear guidelines and goals for the ambassador program.
• Create incentive structures to motivate and reward ambassadors.
Competitive Programming Organizations:
• Regularly review and update a database of key contacts and events in the competitive programming space.
• Attend and follow HUPROG, algoComp, BuCode, algOrg, ALPOC, ICPC World Finals, ICPC SEERC, Google Hash Code organizations.
