ONLINE PROGRAMMING CONTEST FOR UNIVERSITIES 2024 Report
The Online Programming Contest for Universities (OPC) 2024 was held on November 30, 2024, for the fifth time, hosted by inzva. OPC continues to provide undergraduate students with a national platform for competitive programming, aiming to foster algorithmic, analytical, and productive thinking.
This year, OPC evolved with a brand-new format, featuring both an online Qualification Round and an in-person Final Round at inzva’s Taksim space in Istanbul. We’re proud to keep building this tradition, creating new opportunities for students to grow, connect, and compete.
What is algoleague?
algoleague is a competitive programming platform where algorithm enthusiasts of all levels practice their skills and take part in contests—both individually and as teams. The platform is powered by the inzva community and supported by the BEV Foundation.
About the Contest
The Online Programming Contest is a collaborative, team-based competition that brings together Turkish universities and our community-driven programming platform, algoleague. Open to all undergraduate students in Turkey, OPC invites teams of three to challenge themselves, compete, and build lasting skills.
Beyond testing technical skills, the competition aimed to promote teamwork, encourage algorithmic thinking and provide a platform for students to connect, collaborate, and grow. By bringing together aspiring programmers from across the country, OPC 2024 helped strengthen Turkey’s programming community and elevate the standard of competitive programming nationwide.
JOURNEY OF OPC 2024 - What’s New?
OPC 2024 had a two-stage contest structure:
Online Qualification Round: Held online for the first time on November 17, 2024, with 67 teams from 16 universities.
Final Round: The top 12 teams advanced to the Final Round, held in person on November 30, 2024, at inzva’s Taksim location in Istanbul.
This hybrid format allowed us to both broaden accessibility and offer participants a rare opportunity to meet, collaborate, and compete face-to-face.
