Algorithm Competition Winter Camp 2025 Report
Amid the biting cold of winter, a different kind of warmth filled the air—the passion and determination of the participants at the Algorithm Competition Winter Camp 2025. From the moment participants arrived, there was an unmistakable buzz—an excitement for learning, problem-solving, and connecting with others who share the same passion.
Throughout the week, attendees dove deep into complex algorithms, explored creative approaches to problem-solving, and challenged themselves in ways they never had before. But the camp wasn’t just about coding—it was about growth, teamwork, and the friendships that formed along the way. Whether it was a breakthrough moment during a tough session, a late-night discussion about strategies, or simply sharing laughs over meals, every experience added something valuable.
Now that the camp is over, we walk away not just with sharpened skills but with new perspectives, lasting connections, and a renewed motivation to keep improving. The week may have passed quickly, but the lessons learned and the bonds formed will stay with us far beyond this winter.

While numbers don’t capture the full experience, they do offer a glimpse into the scale and enthusiasm surrounding this year’s winter camp. A total of 322 students applied, and after a rigorous 60-hour qualification round, 178 participants rose to the challenge, collectively submitting an impressive 3,171 submissions. These statistics are a testament to the dedication and competitive spirit thriving within our community.
Between January 27 and February 2, Beykoz Kundura served as the gathering place for 50 exceptional students from 14 esteemed universities. Attendees from Ankara University, Bilkent University, Bursa Technical University, Boğaziçi University, Düzce University, Hacettepe University, Istanbul Technical University, Karadeniz Technical University, Koç University, Marmara University, Middle East Technical University, Middle East Technical University NCC, TOBB University of Economics and Technology, and Yıldız Technical University came together for an unforgettable week of learning, competition, and collaboration. More than just a showcase of technical skills, the event fostered an environment of innovation, teamwork, and a shared passion for excellence.

"It was an incredibly rewarding week, both in terms of software learning and social experiences. Having guides available during our algorithm lessons to instantly clarify any questions I had was a major advantage. The diverse activities during our free time kept the camp engaging and fun. Being surrounded by peers from different universities, all passionate about algorithm competitions, and sharing this journey together provided me with a valuable new outlook."
An event of this scale and impact doesn’t come together on its own—it takes an exceptional team working behind the scenes. We owe a huge thanks to our dedicated algorithm mentors and guides, Anıl Dervişoğlu, Berk Sel, Berke Dönmez, Melih Akpınar Murat Biberoğlu, Emin Ersüs, Ahmed Faruk Özgür, Altay Kılıç, Anıl Arda Ayık, Beyza Nur Deniz, Enes Çakıl, Enes Saçak, Yunus Diler whose expertise and passion made this camp an unforgettable experience.
From the very first day to the final moments, they were there—answering questions, offering guidance, and ensuring that every participant felt supported in their learning journey. They carefully designed a curriculum that catered to all levels, covering everything from foundational concepts to advanced techniques, and delivered it with enthusiasm and clarity. More than just guides, they were mentors who provided constant encouragement, pushed participants to think beyond their limits, and inspired them to embrace challenges with confidence.
Alongside them, the incredible inzva and algoleague teams worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth and seamless camp experience. From organizing logistics to handling unexpected challenges, they made sure that participants could fully focus on learning and growing.
Even in the heart of winter, the camp was filled with energy, excitement, and a wide range of activities beyond the academic sessions. We believe that social connections are just as valuable as technical learning, and this year’s camp was a perfect blend of both.
Friendly competition was in full swing as participants put their skills to the test in Wordle, Queens, badminton, chess, and table tennis, keeping the spirit of rivalry alive in a fun and engaging way. We also had the opportunity to explore the historic Beykoz Kundura, gaining insight into its fascinating past. Adding to the experience, a martial arts class introduced participants to new techniques, blending physical activity with mental discipline.
Entertainment was also a key part of the camp. Beykoz Kundura welcomed us to a special cinema and theater screening, while we also hosted our own movie night, creating a cozy and memorable evening. Board games brought participants together for moments of laughter and strategy, strengthening friendships along the way. Through all these activities, the camp fostered an environment where learning, camaraderie, and fun went hand in hand, making it an unforgettable experience.

As part of our commitment to supporting participants beyond the competition, we hosted an insightful career session designed to provide practical guidance for their professional journeys. Led by our general manager, Ahmet Utku Yavuz, the discussion offered a wealth of knowledge, drawing from his extensive experience in the field.
Adding even more depth to the conversation, our team members Berke Dönmez, Emin Ersüs, Melih Akpınar and Murat Biberoğlu shared their expertise on job interviews, career growth, and industry expectations. Their firsthand experiences and advice gave participants a clearer perspective on how to navigate the job market with confidence.
To complement the session, we also conducted personalized resume reviews, giving attendees the opportunity to receive tailored feedback on how to present their skills and achievements effectively. The entire event was a valuable chance for participants to refine their career strategies, gain industry insights, and take meaningful steps toward their future goals.
