Algorithm Competition Summer Camp 2026 Report

For one unforgettable week, Beykoz Kundura once again became home to one of Türkiye's most passionate competitive programming communities. From June 22 to 28, the Algorithm Competition Summer Camp 2026 brought together talented students for an intensive week of learning, collaboration, and challenge.

Through lectures, contests, practice sessions, and social activities, participants strengthened both their algorithmic thinking and their connections within the community. Supported by our renewed guide-participant mentoring system throughout the week, they left the camp with new friendships, valuable experiences, and lasting memories.

The journey to the Algorithm Competition Summer Camp 2026 began with a 5-hour Qualification Round featuring 12 algorithmic problems. Nearly 100 participants competed by submitting a total of 1,571 solutions, demonstrating both their determination and passion for competitive programming.

For the second consecutive year, participants also had the opportunity to compete on-site at inzva Taksim in Istanbul and Hacettepe University in Ankara, bringing the community together even before the camp officially began.

Following the qualification process, the camp received 200 applications from students representing 35 universities and high schools. Held at the historic Beykoz Kundura between June 22 and 28, the Algorithm Competition Summer Camp 2026 welcomed 50 participants from a diverse range of institutions, including Middle East Technical University, Istanbul Technical University, Hacettepe University, Boğaziçi University, Bilkent University, Gebze Technical University, Galatasaray University, Sabancı University, TED University, İzmir Institute of Technology, Çukurova University, Marmara University, Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, RWTH Aachen University, University of Toronto, İzmir University of Economics, Istanbul Beykent University, Sivas University of Science and Technology, and Nişantaşı Nuri Akın Anatolian High School.

“​I attended the camp to get better at competitive programming and meet students from different universities. When I compare myself to before the camp, I can clearly see that I leveled up my algorithm and problem-solving skills. Trying to solve hard questions and sharing ideas with other people made the learning process really enjoyable. Also, we didn't just study all day; the free time activities helped us rest after long coding hours. Beyond the technical knowledge, the camp was an incredible experience that gave me amazing friends I might never have met in my entire life.“​

Additionally, we extend our sincere gratitude to Osman Senih Demirci, Ahmet Salih Çiçek, and Hayrullah Güney for their valuable volunteer contributions.

Beyond technical sessions, we believe that a strong community is built through collaboration and shared experiences. This year, we reintroduced our guide-participant mentoring system, pairing each guide with three participants to provide more personalized support throughout the camp. This encouraged participants to ask questions more comfortably, overcome challenging problems together, and build stronger connections with the community.

Participants also took part in our traditional competitions, including Wordle, Chess, Table Tennis, as well as Queenzva and inZipa - two community games specially developed for inzva by Berke Dönmez. The week also featured Tournament Night, a guided tour of Beykoz Kundura, a performance of Vampyr at Kundura Sahne, and our traditional Movie Night. These shared experiences helped transform a week of learning into lasting friendships and unforgettable memories.

We are also grateful to CeraVe Türkiye and La Roche-Posay Türkiye for supporting our participants with thoughtful gifts included in the welcome kits. Their generous contribution added a special touch to the beginning of the camp experience.

Continuing our tradition, we hosted our Career Talk & CV Review session, moderated by our General Manager, Ahmet Utku Yavuz. Our speakers Celaleddin Ömer Sağlam, Anıl Dervişoğlu, and Emre Tahtalı shared their experiences and insights on building a career in the software industry.

Following the panel, participants took part in one-on-one CV review sessions, where they received personalized feedback to help them strengthen their resumes and prepare for future internship and job applications.

“​Attending this summer camp was an incredible experience that perfectly balanced intense learning with a great atmosphere. I applied to push my algorithm skills to the next level, but I gained so much more. The lectures and the upsolving sessions were highly educational, especially when collaborating with peers, while the competition really tested my understanding. What made the camp truly special, though, was the community. Learning alongside friends, meeting amazing people from different universities, and unwinding during the evening tournaments made the process so enjoyable. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and fun, always there when we got stuck. Everything wrapped up beautifully with a well-organized final contest, leaving me with improved skills and unforgettable memories.”

The camp concluded with the Final Contest, held in the ICPC contest format, the world's most prestigious university-level competitive programming competition. Competing across the Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced divisions, participants put into practice everything they had learned throughout the week while demonstrating their problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and determination.

Foundation Group

The team KunduraGang, consisting of Ege Çetinkaptan and Berat Göktaş, claimed first place in the Foundation division, followed by du bist gut genug, represented by Ali Eren Şimşir and Elif Alkan.

The Foundation Upsolving Award was presented to Berat Göktaş, who solved 61 out of 62 problems during the upsolving period, demonstrating outstanding perseverance and dedication beyond the contest.

Intermediate Group

In the Intermediate division, Beytepe Metro Durağı, consisting of Ahmet Ertuğrul Çil and İsmail Emircan Özdemir, secured first place. herhangi bir şey, represented by Ömer Faruk Kaya and Ferhat Giritli, finished in second place.

The Intermediate Upsolving Award went to Ahmet Yasir Bora, who solved 50 out of 62 problems during the upsolving period.

Advanced Group

The Advanced division was held individually. Efe Demirler finished in first place, followed by Yusuf Mert Yıldız in second.

The Advanced Upsolving Award was presented to Kıvanç Atasoy, who solved 33 out of 43 problems during the upsolving period.

As the Algorithm Competition Summer Camp 2026 comes to an end, every participant becomes a part of the ever-growing inzva algorithm community. We are proud of everything they accomplished throughout the week and excited to see their journeys continue.
