Deep Learning Study Group #10 is Over

This year, our community came together for the final edition of the Deep Learning Study Group in this format. We introduced a brand-new curriculum featuring bundled resources and interactive notebooks, all curated in an open-source GitHub repository and Session Records. If you missed out on this year’s Deep Learning Study Group, we have good news for you. You can now check out our GitHub repository to access all the materials and start learning at your own pace!

Starting on January 24, the program began with an introduction to Neural Networks and Deep Learning, moved through common tasks like Image Classification and Object Detection, and wrapped up with trending topics such as Large Language Models and Generative Models.

Over three months, participants deepened their knowledge of deep learning while gaining hands-on experience through two assignments and a Kaggle challenge. You can explore the materials on our GitHub repository and access the session recordings here.

Module 01: Introduction to Neural Networks and Deep Learning

  • Week 1: Introduction to Neural Networks

  • Week 2: Hyperparameter Tuning and Regularization

  • Week 3: Debugging & Optimization Algorithms

Module 02: Neural Network Architectures and Common Tasks in Deep Learning

  • Week 4-5: CNN with Common Tasks: Image Classification, Object Detection, Image        Segmentation

  • Week 6: Graph Neural Networks

  • Week 7-8: Transformers with Common Tasks: Neural Machine Translation, Image Classification

Module 03: Trend Topics in Deep Learning: Generative Models and LLMs

Of the 119 applicants, 33 participants took part in the program, and 18 of them proudly graduated after completing all their homework assignments and excelling in Kaggle challenges!

Our guides and contributors are all proud graduates of the Deep Learning Study Group. Through the leadership of our AI Team member Sarper Yurtseven, they have given back their knowledge with a shared mission to enhance this study group. Arya Zeynep Mete, Berfin Duman, Berkin Deniz Kahya, Beyza Nur Deniz, Celaleddin Ömer Sağlam, Ece İldem, Gül Korkut, Gürkan Soykan, Kuzey Torlak, Melih Darcan, Sefa Kurtipek, Simge Şenyüz, Tarık Can Özden, and Zeynep Abalı have put together a fresh curriculum and updated materials to make learning more engaging!

HOW DID OUR PARTICIPANTS DO?

This marks the end of Deep Learning Study Group #10. All course materials, notebooks, and resources remain accessible in our GitHub repository for anyone who wishes to follow the curriculum on their own.

All participants have to abide by our CODE OF CONDUCT  and LETTER OF CONSENT.
